Volair Leisure

In partnership with Volair Leisure, Gym Gear has completely transformed the gym at the trust’s Halewood site ready for a fresh and fit start to 2018!

Objective

As a leading sport and fitness facility provider in Merseyside, Volair have a strong commitment to listening to what their members want and ensuring that their facilities incorporate the most up-to-date equipment and training methods the industry has to offer.
However, this project was about far more than just updating the equipment. We were tasked with creating a facility that would surpass the expectations of the existing members whilst providing a “wow-factor” that differentiates it from the competition.

Gym Design

The key addition was a functional training space which ensures that Halewood Leisure Centre can offer members the current fitness trends and the most up to date training methods.
We used careful equipment placement to create four distinct training zones without having to install divider walls or signs – a great space saver.

When you first enter the gym you are faced with an extensive selection of cardio equipment which backs on to a comprehensive strength zone, beyond this is a spacious free weights space positioned against the mirrored back wall and the new functional area located by the windows.

Equipment Installed

We brought together the very best pieces of equipment from across our Gym Gear range.
The cardiovascular offering now includes a selection of premium Gym Gear CV machines, complemented by popular HIIT machines including Concept 2 rowers, Tornado Air Bikes and the XPO trainer. While the restored strength zone comprises an extensive selection of our state of the art Fortitude selectorised range accompanied by a range of our plate loaded Sterling Series machines.
The new free weights zone is double the original size and now features Gym Gear dumbbells, barbells, a selection of Olympic bars, bumper plates and a branded lifting platform. While the fresh functional zone hosts a TRX rig, sled track, kettlebells, slam balls and much more.

Outcome

This innovative and attractive gym has adapted with the changing face of fitness, and now provides the local community with the perfect all inclusive facility.
The response from the Halewood staff has been exceptional and we look forward to hearing the public’s reaction to the project soon!
