The Key Health Club is a small and friendly, privately-owned health and fitness club located in the heart of Keyworth village, only minutes from Nottingham City Centre.
New owner Phil Gabriel felt it was time to freshen up the club, and Gym Gear were delighted to be of assistance. The Gym Gear team worked closely with Phil to completely transform the existing gym and spin studio, to create a new sophisticated yet functional fitness suite.
Gym Design and Equipment Installation
For Phil and his team it was vital to introduce state of the art technology and the most up to date training methods, to enhance the experience of existing members, attract new members and maintain The Key’s reputation as a premium health club.
The equipment supplied for the project promotes all aspects of fitness including cardiovascular, strength and functional training, offering members a wider range of fitness classes and allowing for greater flexibility during individual workouts.
A selection of the latest Gym Gear cardio machines have been introduced, including T98 Treadmills, X97 Cross-trainers, indoor sport bikes and for those looking for an intense HIIT workout, the Tornado Air Bike. To cater for members with increasingly common strength training goals, The Key opted for a variety of resistance machines from the Gym Gear Elite Series range, complimented by a free weight space, featuring Gym Gear dumbbells, premium Olympic bars and benches.
The Key was also keen to introduce a functional aspect to the gym, thereby we chose to incorporate a Gym Gear wall mounted rig, fitted with a range of accessories including a punch bag, kettlebells, power bags and suspension trainers.
The gym now certainly looks like the exclusive, open plan fitness facility Phil was looking to create. Hopefully the redefined gym will exceed the expectations of members, providing them with a diverse range of training options in a fresh and exciting environment.

Physical Performance is a fantastic new strength and conditioning facility based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The owners Will and Rebecca contacted Fitness Warehouse with a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve, and the budget they had at their disposal. After a site visit we created several 3D gym plans to see how the equipment could be utilised most effectively in the space available. After some minor adjustments to the equipment the final plan was approved.
Physical Performance is an impressive set up and sure to be a success with anyone looking to achieve results in a dynamic PT led environment. The gym boasts an artificial grass sled track with prowler, 3 squat stations with bumper plates, one half rack with integrated lifting platform, a crossfit/functional rig, a range of free weights including our GymGear premium rubber dumbbells, a selection of GymGear Sterling Series plate loaded equipment, a dual cable pulley, olympic bench, preacher curl bench, glute ham developer and a range of functional equipment. Each piece of equipment has been custom branded with the gyms logo, including the lifting platform.
It was particularly important to get the correct flooring at this facility. Fitness Warehouse supplied and installed a 30mm thick rubber floor around the rig, the squat stations and lifting platform so that the sub floor would be protected from dropping weights. The lifting platform was fitted flush to the floor to maintain an even floor level throughout the free weights area. A 10mm thick rubber floor was then fitted into the centre of the where the general strength machines are located.
If you are looking to set up a similar facility then please get in touch and we will be happy to help you.
