Swinton & Pendlebury Leisure Centre

Swinton & Pendlebury Leisure Centre is the fifth Salford Community Leisure site to be completed by Gym Gear. Opening its doors in April 2018 members can enjoy a centre that has undergone a full refurbishment with beautiful new flooring, wall décor and a large selection of equipment.

Objective

The refurbishment at Swinton & Pendlebury wasn’t a simple replacement of old equipment for new equipment. The project needed to deliver a modern day facility that addressed the latest trends in fitness together with an attractive environment that flowed seamlessly from one zone to another. As members become more demanding, and competition in the sector is as fierce as ever, this project had to exceed member’s expectations and differentiate it from the competition.

Design and Planning

After meeting with the team at Salford Community Leisure we went away and began to create their vision in our 3D gym design software. Our 3D visualisations were essential to determine the most effective design in the space available and ensure the objectives were met.

Equipment Installed

As with all the Salford Leisure facilities, Swinton & Pendlebury has the latest Gym Gear Entertainment Series Cardio with a host of features including wifi internet, TV, fitness apps, Virtual Go interactive programs, Body Management, and asset management capabilities. Access to the functional area has been improved and popular HIIT cardio has been added in the form of Tornado Air Bikes. The free weights area has been extended to provide more space and include a Sterling series half rack with lifting platform. A range of more compact strength equipment has been installed to provide more space and improve visibility throughout the ground floor.

Outcome

The end result has exceeded expectations and delivered a truly exceptional facility that engages and motivates members. When you walk into the gym for the first time, the first impression is breath-taking. The new décor in combination with state of the art equipment provides members with an enjoyable gym experience that keeps them coming back.
